The suspect in a double-shooting this week at a westside apartment complex surrendered himself to authorities Wednesday night.

According to the Clarke County Jail’s website, 20-year-old Craig Devin Trammell of Jefferson was booked in at 9:37 p.m. Wednesday on two counts of aggravated assault.

Athens-Clarke County police said that Trammell allegedly shot two teens Monday afternoon at The Flats @235 on Sycamore Drive.

The victims were identified in the report as Terrance Grant, 18, of Danielsville and Sherod Porter, 17, of Hull., police said.

Both victims were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

“Porter and Grant were concerned about their gunshot wounds and didn’t provide responding officers with much information about the incident,” according to a police report of the incident.

Lt. Shaun Barnett, ACCPD’s public information officer, said the suspect and victims were known to hang out at The Flats.

He said the victims were shot within the complex then fled into a wooded area behind the apartments.

Barnett said investigators were still trying to determine a motive for the shootings.

Police asked for anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Paul Johnson at paul.johnson@accgov.com or 762-400- 7060.

Bail had not been set for Trammell's release from custody as of Thursday afternoon.
