Three charged with murder in death of Clarke Central grad

The following was released today by the Athens-Clarke County Police Department:

ACCPD has arrested three individuals in connection to Antonio Jewell’s death on November 6,

2025. Samtavious Clark (23, Athens), Jeremiah Gresham (18, Athens), and Dion Nesbitt (18,

Athens) were charged with Murder/Malice Murder, Armed Robbery, Possession of a Firearm

During Commission of/Attempt to Commit Certain Felonies, and Criminal Street Gang charges.

Upon investigation, ACCPD discovered that Jewell’s death stemmed from an armed robbery

attempt. The armed robbery occurred in the 100 block of Madison Avenue.

This is an active and ongoing investigation. Anyone with information regarding the incident is

ACCPD Investigating Death

On November 6, 2025, at approximately 8:16 PM, ACCPD responded to a Person Down call in

the 100 block of Madison Avenue. Upon arrival, officers located a male on the sidewalk, later

identified as 22-year-old Antonio Jewell of Winterville. Emergency Medical Services and the

Athens-Clarke County Fire Department attempted life-saving efforts. Unfortunately, Jewell

succumbed to his injuries at the scene.

ACCPD is actively investigating the circumstances surrounding Jewell’s death.
