Two people reportedly were injured by gunfire Saturday at Bethel Midtown Village.
According to Athens-Clarke County police, officers responded to the apartment complex off of College Avenue, just north of downtown, at about 6:40 p.m. to investigate reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officers located a 23-year-old male and an 18-year-old male who were suffering from gunshot wounds, police said, and both victims were transported by National EMS to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Lt. Shaun Barnett, ACCPD’s public information officer said on Monday he did not have much information about the incident.
“Right now, it is unknown if both victims were targeted by a shooter or shooters, or if they exchanged gunfire with each other,” Barnett said. “There are no suspects and no suspect description yet. The motive is still under investigation and is unknown at this time.
Police asked for anyone with information about the incident to contact Detective Paul Johnson at (762) 400-7060 or paul.johnson@accgov.com.
Do you ever wonder why the group that holds up the signs at Alps Road every Monday doesn't relocate to the places where all the shootings occur? Seems like they'd be able to better target those that need to know that certain lives matter. Just a thought.
Daylight shooting... someone saw something. These kids are products of the great ACC Superintendent they had to pay to go away. Looks like he did a great job. Time for the case to be handed off to the social workers.
hmmm. Proper response? How about a gofundme for range time or dodge ball lessons ""Remember the 5 D's of dodgeball: Dodge, duck, dip, dive and dodge.".
