A pair of food delivery drivers recently fought outside an Athens fast food restaurant, resulting in one of them being arrested.
The incident occurred just before midnight April 12 at McDonald’s on Prince Avenue, where 20-year-old Alexo Quevedo Gil intentionally parked his car so close to another car that the driver, Maikel Vergara, couldn’t get back in.
When Vergara told Gil to move his vehicle, the men began to argue and Gil punched Vergara in the face and grabbed an Apple Watch from his wrist and threw it to the ground.
Vergara explained to police that he had been having problems with Gil and tried to avoid him, but that wasn’t always possibly because they both drove for Uber Eats and frequently crossed paths.
Vergara, 26, from Athens was visibly bruised where Gil had punched him, police said, and the screen of his Apple Watch was broken from having been thrown to the ground.

Gil, 20, of Winder, was arrested and charged with battery and criminal damage to property.
He was released from custody upon posting $2,500 bail.
