An Athens man was forced at gunpoint to strip naked during a recent suspected gang-related beating and robbery.

The incident happened early the morning of April 29th in the area of East Paces Drive, where 21-year-old Raequan Thomas went to meet Elijah Dorsey for mutual combat supposedly to settle a beef they had concerning a woman.

When Thomas arrived at the agreed upon location, Tyricus Henson emerged from the shadows pointing a gun at Thomas, who was then ordered to strip naked.

Dorsey and Henson were beating and kicking Thomas when a bystander who saw what was happening called 911.

The two suspects fled upon seeing police arriving, and they were arrested by officers who searched the area.

The incident is believed to be gang related, according to police “due to Henson’s suspected affiliation with the Red Tape Gang, a violent street gang in Athens as well as Thomas and Dorsey’s affiliation with known gang members.”

In addition to beating Thomas, police said that the suspects stole his phone and pistol.

Thomas said that his attackers videoed him getting beaten.

Dorsey and Henson were both charged with aggravated assault and armed robbery.

They are being detained at the county jail pending a bail hearing.
