Monika Patel, 31, of Oglethorpe Avenue, was recently arrested after creating a scene at her job in the downtown Waffle House on Clayton Street.
The incident happened at about 8:15 p.m. on October 10th, when a supervisor called 911 to report a disorderly person, as Patel had been trying to pick fights with other employees and became enraged when the manager told her to leave and go home.
Police arrived to hear Patel screaming “Fuck so loudly it caused her voice to rasp,” according to a report.
“I asked her what her plan was and she shouted at me that she worked here and everyone here was a snitch,” one of the officers reported.
“As she spoke she sprayed a startling volume of spittle in my face, and I asked her to not spit on me again,” the officer said.
She allegedly tried to provoke the officer into a fight and continued showering him with spittle as she yelled.
Patel was arrested with the assistance of other officers on charges of disorderly conduct, and criminal trespass for not leaving when told to.
Police later learned that the woman had previously been under the influence of drugs while working, and employees once found her passed out in her vomit.
She was released from custody on bail and is scheduled to be arraigned on December 12th,
