A Walton County jury has found Michael Lynn Griffieth guilty of attempted murder for a domestic violence incident three years ago in which he brutally beat and stabbed his victim.
He will likely live out his life in prison,
During the 2022 incident in Social Circle the victim was stabbed multiple times and her ear nearly cut off. Griffeth led police on a pursuit that ended in Monroe where he crashed into a tree.
He was later indicted on charges of criminal attempt to commit murder, aggravated assault and related crimes.
After a jury found him guilty on all charges, the judge took into account Griffeth’s extensive criminal history that stretched back 40 years when sentencing him to 25 years in prison without the possibility of parole,
He would be 84 years old if he survives until the end of his sentence,
