25th Annual Classic City Brew Fest to benefit Athens Area Humane Society

Classic City Brew Fest, Georgia’s longest-running craft beer festival, will be held at Hotel Indigo on August 28th, 2021, from 2:30 to 6:00 P.M. For twenty-five years, this award-winning festival has presented the best rare, regional, and international craft beers and has been named a top beer fest by both USA Today and Beer Connoisseur Magazine

This will be the first year that the Brew Fest will be held on Hotel Indigo’s patio and tented parking deck, located at 500 College Ave, Athens. Hotel Indigo is a boutique hotel combining authentic local experiences, modern design, and intimate service. The festival is set to feature 50+ unique, one-off cask ales and showcases local draft beers, with booths from Athens breweries such as Akademia, Athentic, Creature Comforts, Normaltown, Southern Brewing Company, and Terrapin. Hotel Indigo will host a booth at the event where patrons can purchase food items to enjoy alongside all the beer. Brew Fest Founder and Organizer, Owen Ogletree states, “These unique cask ales are such a treat because brewers add creative ingredients. Each cask is special and can be found nowhere else. People who love rare, exclusive beers should not miss this!” Each ticket provides patrons with a souvenir taster glass to sample all the beers, a program book, and live music from local artist Jim Cook. Tickets are limited and sell for $43.50 per person (plus tax) and may purchase tickets online at www.BrewFest.net. Patrons must be 21 and over with valid I.D. presented at the door. Pets are welcome and leashes are required. The event takes place rain or shine. Proceeds benefit the Athens Area Humane Society, which is building a new pet adoption center and spay/neuter/wellness clinic at 1030 Mitchell Bridge Road. Allyson Hester, Vice President of the AAHS Board of Directors states, “The Classic City Brew Fest, one of Athens' most spirited annual events, is an afternoon to remember! Camaraderie over unlimited beer samples at a beautiful Athens venue is a notable way to spend a Saturday afternoon and help the Athens Area Humane Society at the same time! If this is your first or your twenty-fifth Classic City Brew Fest, come celebrate a more normal world with us on August 28th .” AAHS rescues and protect companion animals by providing for their wellbeing, uniting them with loving homes, and advocating for a compassionate society.
