Three people have been charged in connection with a robbery and beating last month of a resident at The Park at Athens Lakeside apartment complex, Athens-Clarke County police said.
The 33-year-old victim said he was in his home the afternoon of May 29 when the suspects jumped and beat him before stealing a fireproof lock box and $2,000 cash, according to police.
The victim was transported to the hospital where he reportedly was treated for a broken nose and other injuries.
The incident reportedly had been recorded by the victim’s security video camera.
Following an investigation, police identified the suspects as Bradley Pettit, 22, of Conyers, Joshua Austin Jackson, 22, of East Broad Street and Marie Cierra Penn, 22 of Stockbridge.
Petit was arrested earlier this month on charges of robbery and aggravated assault, police said, and Penn was arrested for being a party to both of those crimes.
Pettit, who is charged in warrants with robbery and aggravated assault, remained at large as of Saturday morning.
