6 admin appointments approved for Athens public schools

At its meeting Thursday night the Clarke County Board of Education approved six administrative appointments:

1. Dr. Annie Turman has been promoted from assistant principal to principal of Burney-Harris-Lyons Middle School.

2. Derrick Maxwell has been appointed as interim principal of Clarke Middle School for the 2024-25 school year.

3. At Cedar Shoals High School, assistant principal James Price has been promoted to Associate Principal of Instruction and Nathan Reincheld has been appointed Associate Principal of Operations.

4. Burks Elementary School interim assistant principal Dr. Magen Watkins will now be Assistant Principal.

5. Shante Thompson has been appointed Assistant Principal of Gaines Elementary School.
