Victim critically injured in eastside shooting

The Athens-Clarke County Police Department is investigating a shooting that left a man critically injured Sunday night.

Police say officers responded to a reported shooting on Cone Drive at approximately 10:05 p.m. when they located a 36-year-old man from Athens who had been shot in the leg. Officers rendered aid until the arrival of National EMS paramedics who transported him to the local hospital, where he was listed in critical but stable condition.

Following an investigation, police arrested 32-year-old Arthur Quontqvious Kilpatrick of Cone Drive and charged him with aggravated assault.

He is being held without bail at the county jail,
