An Athens man reported he was robbed at gunpoint this week at a north Athens bus stop.
The 22-year-old Freeman Drive resident said he was waiting at the bus stop in the 600 block of Danielsville Road at about 8:30 a.m Monday when he was approached by a man who pointed a gun at his temple, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.
After telling the victim to "give everything up," the suspect reached into the victim's sweatshirt pocket and took a .9mm Taurus semiautomatic pistol and a cellphone, according to the report, which indicated that the suspect left on foot on Freeman Drive and turned on to North Avenue.
According to the report, the victim described the robber as black, in his late 30's and with a "beer belly."
He wore a black, zippered hoodie, white shirt, black pants, and had "jail tattoos" between his eyes and below each eye, according to the police report.
Do not lt sun down catch you in Athens or Atlanta! Liberal governments promote crime.
A bus stop? I am gonna sell maps to these hoodrats to show them who to rob. Maybe just drop a hint to the few of them that can read... Boulevard and Milledge. Rob some people who have money and profess to love you (criminals). Be careful though, some in 5 Pts are armed but if go look for a Stacey sign.. they won't have a gun. You're welcome!
