The Athens-Clarke County Unified Government has the fyschedule and service changes for Indigenous Peoples' Day today, Oct. 14.
The animal shelter is closed and animal control officers are unavailable for non-emergency phone calls. Any animal emergency service – including for injured or trapped animals will be provided through 911.
County parks will be open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sandy Creek Park is closed as it always is on Mondays.
All other Leisure Services Department facilities, including the Sandy Creek Nature Center, Lyndon House Arts Center and other community centers are closed.
Solid Waste offices are closed.
Residential garbage and recycling collection will be delayed by one day for the week. However, downtown district commercial and residential curbside, roll cart and dumpster garbage and recycling services will be collected as regularly scheduled,
All other commercial curbside, roll cart and recycling services will be delayed by one day. The Materials Recycling Facility will remain open from 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. as regularly scheduled. The landfill and the CHaRM facility is closed.
All transit services will operate as regularly scheduled, but the offices will be closed.
All general departmental administrative offices and facilities – including City Hall, Courthouse, Satula Avenue Building and Dougherty Street Governmental Building – are closed.
