An arrest reportedly has been made in a shooting that injured a teen Wednesday afternoon in the Milford Hills subdivision in southeastern Athens-Clarke County.

According to police, 18-year-old Markel Deon Hall of North Peter Street was arrested in connection with multiple bullets that were fired into an occupied car that was parked outside a residence on Milford Drive at about 4 p.m.

Adrew Porter, 19, of Rocksprings Court was the only occupant to be injured, receiving a gunshot wound to the leg, police said. Porter was taken by ambulance to the hospital for treatment of the non-life-threatening injury, police said. The other occupant, 18-year-old Silas Tolera of Cedar Creek Drive, was not injured, police said.

A police report indicated that the car occupied by Porter and Tolera of Cedar Creek Drive was shot at by an occupant of a vehicle that pulled up from behind. The report also indicated the car's gas tank was punctured by a bullet and that there were "many bullet holes to the rear of the vehicle."

A witness identified Hall as the shooter, and Hall was arrested Thursday afternoon on two counts of aggravated assault.

“The suspect had an ongoing dispute with one of the residents at this location,” said Lt. Shaun Barnett, ACCPD’s public information officer.

"Detectives are still looking into any potential involvement by other parties and others could potentially face charges related to this incident as well,” Barnett said late Thursday afternoon.

Police asked for anybody with information regarding this incident to contact Detective David Harrison at david.harrison@accgov.com or 762-400-7361.
