Athens Skate Park turns 20 years old and you’re invited to the party

Released by the Athens-Clarke County Leisure Services Department:

Happy 20th birthday to the Skate Park of Athens!

The 14,000 square foot facility opened at Southeast Clarke Park #OnThisDay in 2005 thanks to funds from SPLOST 2000 and a $10,000 donation from the Tony Hawk Foundation (now known as The Skatepark Project).

Make plans to bring the family out to the Skate Park's 20th Birthday Bash this Saturday, April 19 from noon to 8:00 PM. Enjoy live music, food vendors, an artist market, and contests for adults and kids.
