Athens teen attacked by group of thugs on way home from trunk or treat

A 14-year-old boy was severely beaten by a group of thugs as he was on his way home from a Halloween event at the East Athens Community Center.
According to a police report released Thursday, the incident happened in the evening of October 31st when the victim was walking home to the Nellie B community from the trunk or treat ard was surrounded by a group of youths, one of whom wore a ski mask and brandished a handgun.
He tried to run home but fell, police said, at which time he was beaten, kicked and spit on, and an attempted to remove his clothing was made.
The boy told police that when kicked in the head he briefly lost consciousness and when he came to he ran home.
He described his attackers as white males, and identified one as a 17-year-old who lived in the neighborhood.
Police said his face and head were badly injured and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital,
Security camera footage shows the boy being chased by three suspects, with one holding his waistband as though he had a gun.
