Convicted felon Terrence Faust will be having his rap sheet expanded after some recent careless driving.
Just what new crimes he will be charged with is pending further investigation by drug task force officers.
The 38-year-old Athens man found himself in police custody the morning of March 17 after driving over to the far-left passing lane immediately upon entering the Athens Perimeter at Prince Avenue.
Directly behind him on the highway entrance ramp witnessing the traffic infraction was a police officer who saw motorists slam on their brakes to avoid rear-ending Faust’s Honda Accord.
The officer conducted an immediate traffic stop and could see Faust making furtive movements inside the car.
During a subsequent search of the vehicle, police found several baggies of cocaine and a scale.
A convicted felon who has done time in state prison, Faust was not allowed to have the loaded pistol that was hidden under a car floor mat.
Police cited Faust for driving on a suspended license, and indicated that any criminal or traffic charges were placed on hold until after Faust could be interviewed by the Northeast Georgia Regional Drug Task Force.
