Several members of the Clarke County Sheriff's Office were recently presented with pins that recognized their completion of 40-hours of advanced training to become certified jail training officers.
Sheriff Edwards presented the JTO pins during a Dec. 11 ceremony in the atrium of the Athens-Clarke County Courthouse
"We thank them for their dedication, hard work, and determination," Edwards said in a prepared media release.
"The training officers' advanced skill set will provide new employees an opportunity to train having the best teachings from a certified officer." he said. "We thank them for serving the Clarke County Sheriff’s Office, the Athens-Clarke County Unified Government and the citizens of Athens-Clarke County."
