Clarke County sheriff warns of bench warrant scam

The Clarke County Sheriff’s Office has issued the following warning:

It has come to our attention that someone posing as a member of the Clarke County Sheriff's Office - Major Swift - is contacting citizens saying they are calling for a legal matter and that they will be arrested or have a bench warrant sworn out against them unless they pay a fee through PayPal, gift cards, Venmo, or CashApp. This is not true.
