Computation & canvassing of ballots begins June 18

Pursuant to Official Code of Georgia Annotated (O.C.G.A.) § 21-2-492, notice is hereby given that the computation and canvassing of the returns of votes cast in the June 18, 2024, General Primary & Nonpartisan Election Runoff will begin Tuesday, June 18, 2024 at 7:30 PM at the Facilities and Landscape training room located at 2555 Lexington Road in Athens.

The process also includes reconciling provisional ballots as provided in O.C.G.A. Sections 21-2-418 and 21-2-419, guaranteeing that all ballots have been counted and tabulated, and that absentee ballots as provided in OCGA section 21-2-386 subparagraph (a)(1)(G) from day-to-day are included in the final vote. Due to ACCGov offices being closed on Wednesday, June 19 for Juneteenth, the computation and canvassing of provisional and absentee ballots will resume Thursday, June 20 at 10:00 AM at the Elections Department located at 155 East Washington Street.

The computation and canvassing process is open to the public.
