Criminal wanted in two counties found riding bike on Athens Perimeter

Dedrick Thompson, 32, of Hull was arrested the morning of June 19th when he was caught riding an electric bicycle on the:Athens Perimeter.

When questioning Thompson, police learned that he had felony probation warrants on file in Banks and Athens-Clarke counties in connection with robbery and burglary convictions,

He was also found in possession of methamphetamine, which earned him an additional felony charge. Police also cited him for illegal use of a highway,

Thompson is being held at the county jail, where the Banks County Sheriff’s Office has placed a hold on his release.
