A suspect was arrested early Thursday after she was caught fleeing from the scene of a drive-by shooting in a northside neighborhood of Athens.
Myles Brown, 37, of Herring Street, was charged with drive-by shooting, three counts of aggravated assault, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and several motor vehicle and traffic violations,
Brown told police that she is transgender and identifies as female.
She was arrested at about 1:30 a.m. by a police officer who was responding to a drive-by shooting at the Monty Drive neighborhood off Danielsville Road,
The arrest was made after a high speed chase on the Athens Perimeter that ended on North Chase Street. A gun was tossed out of Brown’s SUV during the chase, but it was later recovered by police.
A police report about the chase and arrest had no details about the shooting, but it listed as victims a 66-year-old Monty Drive man and his adult son.
Brown is being held in pretrial detention without bail,
