Driver arrested after throwing away traffic ticket

Keeley Lashun Jones, 32, of Carriage Court, was

arrested early in the morning of April 30th after she threw away a traffic ticket that she’d just been issued.

An officer stopped the woman’s car on Barnett Shoals Road at about 2:30 am after he saw Jones fail to dim her headlights for oncoming traffic.

The officer reported that Jones was irate during their interaction and after writing her a ticket for failing to dim her lights she tossed the citation out of the window

“I picked up the citation and informed her she was getting a littering citation,”‘the officer said,

“I then completed three more citations for window tint which was measured at 19% on the driver’s window, obscured tag for having a tag cover that obscured her registration sticker, and littering,” he wrote in his report.

Jones refused to sign the citations after being informed that her refusal would result in her arrest.

She was taken and booked into jail on the citation charges,
