Photo by Mandy King/Classic City News

A person was driving on the Athens Perimeter between Prince Avenue and Tallassee Road Wednesday afternoon when they swerved to avoid another vehicle and the car crashed in a rollover wreck, landing on its roof in the median.

The driver declined medical attention, and was cited by police for traveling for too fast for conditions.

ATL driving has come to Athens. Has anyone else noticed?

Were they really driving "fast" or was it the usual knee jerk citation? That's why so many "accidents" are due to "speeding".

From my experience that seems to be the cover-all citation for when the police didn’t actually see the violation

10 loop is a speedway. Too bad it can't be patrolled.

The people going 55 or slower need to find alternative routes. It’s a bypass for a reason. I’ve seen more accidents caused by people forced to pass on the right because of slow drivers riding in the fast lane at or below the speed limit. If it scares you, don’t get on the bypass.
