Athens drug trafficking indictment

Andrew Lee Ellison, 40, of Westchester Circle, was indicted on Tuesday by an Athens-Clarke County grand jury on numerous drug-related charges,

The charges include trafficking methamphetamine, trafficking fentanyl, possession with intent to distribute morphine, and possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

According to court records, the charges stem from Ellison’s arrest on September 3rd during a search of his residence when over 47 grams of fentanyl was found in his bedroom, along with the other drugs.

A bail hearing had been scheduled for September 17th but Ellison refused to leave the jail.
