Employee sexually assaulted in Athens vape shop

A 25-year-old Snellville woman was sexually assaulted Sunday morning while working at the Cloud 9 Smoke & Vape Shop in downtown Athens.

A man pretending to be a customer exposed himself and groped the employee at about 11 a.m. when no one else was in the store.

The victim was extremely distraught as she told officers through tears about what the man had done to her. She said that he kept asking her to have sex.

Police viewed surveillance footage of the incident and distributed the suspect’s photo to officers who located him at the Willow Street bus terminal.

Kyle Joseph Anderson, 34, of White Plains, PA, was arrested on charges of sexual battery and public indecency,

He is in the county jail without bail being set due to his being from out of state and attempting to take a bus when found,
