A Clarke County grand jury recently indicted three men and two women for an Athens home-invasion armed robbery three months ago in which firearms and other items were stolen.
Named in an eight-count indictment filed Sept. 17 in Clarke County Superior Court are Mahogany Marie Hill, 29, of Pastore Court in Winterville; Kendall Devarious Josey, 29, of Spring Valley Road; Arion Shunte Smith, 18, of Highland Park Drive; Donte Omar Tate, 17, of Highland Park Drive; and Kendall Ramon Young, 19, of Towne View Place.

Each are charged with first-degree home invasion, armed robbery, two counts each of aggravated assault and false imprisonment, possession of a knife during the commission of a crime, and conspiracy.

According to Athens-Clarke County police, the incident occurred late the night of June 27 in a housing complex off the 500 block of Macon Highway. Police said the suspects forced their way into an apartment occupied by four people.

One of the suspects was armed with a kitchen knife, which was used to threaten the victims, according to police.

The suspects stole electronics, shotguns, knives and a cell phone, police said.
All of the defendants were being held without bail at the Clarke County Jail.
They are scheduled to be arraigned on Oct. 7.
