Five people were injured Friday night in a two-car collision at a west Athens intersection,
according to the Athens-Clarke County Fire and Emergency Services Department.
According to a post on the department's Facebook page, the collision occurred at the intersection of Hawthorne Oglethorpe avenues.

"It was reported that there were 5 patients with this 2 car accident, the social media post stated at apprximately 8:30 p.m. "Engine 24, Rescue 4, Car 34 along with National EMS and Athens-Clarke County Police Department are working the accident."
