A Hall County man reportedly was killed Tuesday when his truck crashed on Lexington Road in eastern Athens-Clarke County.
According to police, officers responded to 4:30 p.m. reports of a single-vehicle crash on Lexington Road near the intersection of Oak Drive.
The initial investigation indicates that a woodchipper truck with a trailer was traveling west on Lexington Road in the inside lane when it veered to the left, struck a curb, and sideswiped landscaping in the center median where it came to rest, according to police.
The driver, Brandon Tolbert, 27, of Oakwood, was removed from the truck, provided with medical care, and transported to a local hospital where he was pronounced deceased, police said.

This incident is the 13th fatal vehicle crash in Athens-Clarke County in 2023.
