A homeless man was recently arrested at Holiday Inn Express on West Broad Street after he pulled a knife when being kicked out by the manager for trying to steal food.

According to police, the incident was reported at 7:49 a.m. July 17th when the manager saw 50-year-old Marlin Bailey get into line at the breakfast bar and attempt to take some food.

As the manager escorted him to the door Bailey took out the knife and then left the building. Police said he was still outside the hotel with the knife when they arrested him.

Bailey was charged with simple assault and disorderly conduct.

The jail website indicates he was also booked in on charges of possession of methamphetamine, drug objects, and a felony probation violation.
