A Madison County man was arrested this week for allegedly sexually assaulting three children in Athens.
Wendell Daniel Coker, 32, of Irvin Kirk Road in Danielsville, was booked into the Clarke County Jail Thursday night on three counts each of child molestation and sexual battery of a child under 16, according to the jail’s website.
Athens-Clarke County police, who investigated the alleged assaults, said they could not release the reports due to the alleged victims’ ages and the nature of the allegations.
According to ACCPD Capt. John Radford, two of the victims were eight and nine years old, but he did not know the age of the third victim, who he said was a juvenile male.
Radford said he did not know when the alleged assaults occurred, except, that “this was a pattern over several months.“
Coker was charged with all six offenses under the state Family Violence Act, an indication that he knew the victims.
Coker was being held at the county jail without bail being set.
