An Athens resident was killed Wednesday night when his vehicle overturned on a rain-slickened roadway.

Jamie Latravis Thrasher, 40, was the victim of a rollover accident on Timothy Road at about 9 p.m., in which he was ejected from his vehicle, according to Clarke County Coroner Sonny Wilson.

Wilson said he pronounced Thrasher dead at the scene.

The coroner said that Thrasher had an Athens address that extends into Oconee County. Thrasher's Facebook profile indicates that he grew up in Athens and attended Clarke Central High School.

He was married to Kasey Payne-Thrasher, and the couple had five children, according to posts on his Facebook page.

The Athens-Clarke County police report of the accident was not available Thursday morning.

Classic City News will update this story as more information becomes available.
