Lyndon House Arts Center: Pathways, Works by Kristy Bishop

The Lyndon House Arts Center is pleased to announce the Summer Series featuring Pathways: Works by Kristy Bishop, opening on Thursday, June 13 and on view through August 31, 2024.

Pathways, a solo exhibition in our Atrium cases, features Kristy Bishop’s body of work, "Metaweaves.” Employing centuries-old techniques to create dynamic, vivid, and utterly contemporary designs, Bishop pays homage to the rich history of inkle, rigid heddle, and tablet weaving. Her amorphous, wall-bound works are weavings of weavings.

Bishop resides in South Carolina, where she is a teaching artist in public schools and offers private workshops. She has been an artist-in-residence at the Gibbes Museum of Art in Charleston, SC and has shown extensively throughout the region.

All exhibitions at Lyndon House Arts Center are free of charge and open to the public. Exhibitions are available to view during regular gallery hours, Tuesday and Thursday from 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. and Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday from 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Children must be accompanied by an adult. The Lyndon House Arts Center is closed on Saturdays when there is a UGA home football game.
