A Hall County man has been indicted for an alleged sexual assault on the University of Georgia campus two years ago.
James Gregory Ervin, 20, of Flowery Branch, was charged with aggravated sexual battery, criminal attempt to commit rape, sexual battery and sodomy, according to the indictment filed Thursday in Clarke County Superior Court.
It is alleged in the indictment that he assaulted a student on March 19, 2023 at UGA’s Creswell Hall on Baxter Street.
Following an investigation by the University of Georgia Police Department, Ervin was arrested on warrants on Nov. 6, 2023.
A judge set bail at $50,000 the following week, and Ervin was released upon posting bonds.
He is scheduled to be arraigned on April 7.
