Man indicted for pushing sister from moving car on highway

Steve Delaney Childs, 36, of Vineyard Drive was indicted Tuesday by an Athens-Clarke County grand jury on charges stemming from his arrest in July after he pushed his sister from a car as they were on the Athens Perimeter,

He allegedly punched the woman and the face when arguing over a matter then opened the passenger door and pushed her out.

The indictment charges Childs with aggravated assault and battery.

He was granted bail a month after being arrested and released upon posting a $5,000 bond.

An arraignment date was not immediately scheduled.
