The Gwinnett Police Department has identified human remains that were found Monday on Highway 316, between Drowning Creek Road in Gwinnett County, near the Barrow County Line as Susana Moralesa, a 16-year-old girl from Norcross who was reported as missing on July 26, 2022.
GCPD said the girl's death was being investigated as a homicide.
GCPD said officers responded to the site shortly after 6 p.m. to investigate a report that a passerby saw what they believed to be human remains in the woods.
Detectives and CSI responded to the scene, and the Gwinnett Medical Examiners’ office took possession of the remains.Detectives are investigating the manner and cause of death of Morales, and police asked for anyone who has information regarding the case to contact GCPD detectives at 770-513-5300.
