Parolee arrested for gunplay outside Athens apartments

Cody Hall, a 32-year old paroled felon was arrested early the morning of June 13th outside of his Westchester Lane where police said he fired a gun several times into the ground next to where another man was standing.
According to police, the incident happened while the men were drinking beer on a back patio.
Hall was not supposed to have a gun because of convictions in Jackson County for burglary, possession of methamphetamine theft by receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, among other offenses.
He was released on parole in February 2024 from the Jefferson County Correctional Institution.
Athens-Clarke County police arrested Hall on charges of reckless conduct, pointing a gun at another person, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
The county jail’s website indicates that he was also charged with violating parole.
