Athens-Clarke County police said they were investigating a hit-and-run collision in which a pedestrian was struck by a car on West Broad Street early Monday morning.
A Henry County man said he was crossing from the south side of the six-lane road in a crosswalk at Camellia Drive at about 12:11 a.m. when he was struck by a car that was traveling west on West Broad street, according to police.
The victim said that he had been within a marked crosswalk and that the walk signal had been activated, according to police.
The 28-year-old McDonough resident indicated the car that struck him was a gray or silver mid-size Toyota sedan.
The victim was treated for undisclosed injuries at Piedmont Athens Regional Medical Center.
