Police release body cam footage of officer shooting

Athens-Clarke County Police released the body cam footage of Senior Police Officer David Harrison and Officer Charles Bidinger. Both officers were involved in the shooting of Aaron Hong in Athens on Monday afternoon.

According to the Georgia Bureau of Investigation, which is reviewing the incident, the two Athens-Clarke County police officers responded at about 12:30 p.m. to the River Club apartment complex off Macon Highway where several 911 callers reported that Hong was causing a disturbance with a butcher knife.

Both officers are on paid administrative leave while the investigation is conducted.

These body cam videos are unedited and contain graphic images.

I would have shot before he did . The guy was on a death wish . Im just happy the officer was not hurt .

they did there best to NOT shoot him,he was asking for it to get shot.so yeah officers...job done right.

Thank God the police officers are OK. They did an outstanding job at protecting their community and themselves. No officer wishes to take deadly actions but when it comes to this their hands are forced, Thank you officers for your service doing a job that many would not. You put your lives at the risk of not coming home with EVERY call you answer to. Thank You.
