Science fact of the day: Dholes eat hoofed mammals

Dholes eat a fairly specific diet — they prey mostly on hoofed mammals.

In India, they eat deer, wild pigs, buffalo, and wild goats. In Southeast Asia, they eat deer, gaur, and banteng.

And Dholes in Siberia eat deer, wild sheep, and reindeer.

Nomatter which region they live in, all Dholes also eat berries, bugs, lizards, and rabbits when available.
