Fishing cats are strong swimmers.
They have webbing between their toes to help them maneuver in the water and walk through muddy wetlands without sinking.
Their tails are relatively short and their fur has two layers — one is very short and dense to keep the cat’s skin warm and dry in the water and the other is made up of longer hairs, or guard hairs, that give the cat’s fur a distinct pattern that helps with camouflage while hunting.
