Science fact of the day: Steller’s Sea-Eagle is the rarest raptor

Steller’s Sea-Eagle is considered one of the rarest raptors in the world.

These mysterious birds live along the remote, rocky seacoasts and rivers of northeastern Siberia.

Some will migrate for the winter to the southern Kuril Islands and to Hokkaido, Japan, but even with this occasional movement, these birds have a very limited and remote habitat range, making them a truly rare sight for most humans.
