Her car’s speedometer was stuck on 100, indicating the speed at which Victoria Floyd was driving when her car crashed into another vehicle last week while she allegedly was driving while intoxicated.
The incident happened late the afternoon of April 1 when the 36-year-old Sanders Road resident was driving a Ford Crown Victoria on U.S. Highway 29 North and it slammed into the rear of a van that entered the highway from Harve Mathis Road.
Both vehicles were disabled by the collision and the speedometer of the Crown Victoria indicated 100 mph, as it was “stuck at the speed that was displayed during the impact of the vehicle,” the police accident report says.
The driver of the van was transported to the hospital with unspecified injuries, and Floyd was taken there to have her blood drawn for toxicology testing.
She was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs and reckless driving.
