Athens woman charged with stabbing victim in the head

Dashaniti Areonna Dalton, 20, of Pepperidge Lane, was arrested early in the morning of December 19th after she stabbed a 27-year old woman in the doorway of the victim’s home on North Bluff Drive.

The victim told police that Dalton was a family friend who rarely visited, but on that day she showed up wanting to fight over her having previously informed Dalton about her boyfriend cheating.

An officer noted in a report that the victim had blood on her face from the head wound that was actively bleeding, but did not indicate whether she was transported to the hospital.

Dalton had already left the scene and was arrested last week on a warrant charging her with aggravated assault.

She was released later in the day upon posting a $2,500 bond.
