A Madison County woman was arrested on drug charges early Wednesday morning after her car was stopped for a tag light violation, according to an Athens-Clarke County police report.

An officer conducted a 4:19 a.m. traffic stop on the car, driven by 43-year-old Shauna Leann Giddens of Lakeview Circle in Danielsville, on West Broad Street near Sycamore Drive at which time he smelled an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle, according to the report.

During a subsequent search, the officer found in the glove box a glass container of pot and a digital scale with marijuana residue on it, the report noted, and in her purse were three baggies of heroin and one baggie of methamphetamine.

In the car’s trunk officers located a box of empty baggies and a ledger containing names, email addresses, phone number and alleged transactions, according to the police report.

Giddens was arrested and charged with possession with intent to distribute heroin and methamphetamine, possession of drug-related objects and cited for the tail light violation, according to the report.

Her two male passengers, one 22 years old and the other 28, were searched and released, the report noted.

As of Thursday afternoon, Giddens was being held at the Clarke County Jail in lieu of good security bonds totaling $6,000.
