A teenager has been identified as a possible suspect in the shooting of a girl this week at an eastside trailer park, Athens-Clarke County police Public Information Officer Lt. Shaun Barnett said Friday morning.
“No arrests have been made at this time but a potential (male) juvenile suspect has been identified,” Barnett said. “It is believed that the suspect and the victim were known to each other but a motive is still under investigation.”
Antijah Williford, 15, was found shot in the stomach Wednesday night at Hallmark Estates off of Spring Valley Road. Police said the girl did not live there, but knew people who did.
Antijah was initially transported to a local hospital, but when the seriousness of her injuries was realized, the girl was flown to a children’s hospital In Atlanta.
She was admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit, but the extent of the injuries and the girl’s condition could not be ascertained on Friday.
