"Tell Me a Story: Works by Jasmine Best" at Lyndon House Arts Center

The Lyndon House Arts Center announces the opening of the Lyndon House Arts Center’s Choice Award Artist Exhibition, Tell Me A Story, works by Jasmine Best, on view through March 12, 2024.

The Lyndon House Arts Center Choice Award is selected each year by the LHAC's exhibition team.  The award is given to an exhibiting artist from the prior year’s Juried Exhibition and provides the opportunity for a solo show.

Jasmine Best is a current MFA candidate at the Lamar Dodd School of Art at the University of Georgia. Best considers herself a Southern Artist, gathering narratives from her Carolinian family and childhood for artistic inspiration. Best’s personal memories and manipulations of her memories create dialogues about the black female identity. Best explores the folk story traditions of the Black South through tangible and traditional mediums such as fabric and yarn combined with digital sewing.  Her exhibition includes all new wall works and sculpture.

All exhibitions are free of charge and open to the public.  Exhibitions are on view during regular gallery hours Tuesday and Thursday 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.  Children must be accompanied by an adult.
