Two people shot at Bethel Homes apartments

Police on Friday afternoon were investigating a shooting incident that injured two people at an apartment complex north of downtown Athens.

The victims were shot at Bethel Homes on Hickman Drive and subsequently transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries

“Detectives are investigating the scene currently,” said Athens-Clarke County police Lt. Jody Thompson.

“A physical altercation apparently escalated to gunfire,”‘he said,
