A University of Georgia football player was arrested the night of July 16th when he was stopped for a traffic violation and found in possession of a felony amount of weed.
Jahzare Jackson, a 21-year-old lineman for the Georgia Bulldogs, was pulled over on West Broad Street near Hawthorne Avenue because he was driving while holding a cellphone, according to a Georgia State Patrol summons.
The trooper subsequently found over an ounce of pot and a marijuana grinder, the trooper’s arrest affidavits say.
Jackson was charged with felony possession of marijuana, possession of drug-related objects, and also with misdemeanor marijuana possession, which is not explained in documentation.
He was released from the county jail several hours later upon posting bonds totaling $5,030.
