A Madison County woman was arrested the afternoon of April 15 after she crashed her car into a fire hydrant on Nacoochee Avenue and police found evidence of drug use.
Brittany Meadows, 36, of Carlton had her 3-year-old son in the car and he was transported by ambulance to the hospital because he reportedly hit his head when the car wrecked.
Water reportedly gushed onto the street from the damaged hydrant.
Meadows was arrested after she failed roadside sobriety tests and several empty bottles of methadone were found in her car.
She was charged with driving under the influence of drugs, failure to have her child restrained, and endangerment of a child.
